My “aha” moment
Everyone at some point in life will have an “aha” moment. Some moments may be significant while others may be small, either way it is when you recognize or comprehend something. Ultimately, it is coming to an important understanding, almost like when the light bulb turns on in your head. It is almost like a sense of relief. Generally, “aha” moments are usually triggered by real life examples, asking questions, reflection activities and / or problem solving in teams.
As earlier stated, “aha” moments are usually triggered by real life examples, asking questions, reflection activities and / or problem solving in teams just to name a few. I realized my “aha moment simply off of my experience today and speaking with my mother about how I was feeling. She provided me with some great advice which allowed me to change my thoughts on the matter and now I am feeling relieved. In short, value the “aha moment, it is a powerful feeling!
So, let’s get to it! My “aha” moment was today lol! I just completed my junior year of high school, currently attending a pre-college summer program at Syracuse University. Today is when I realized college can be a bit overwhelming however, I also realized that changing my thought process about the workload provided me with a sense of relief. So not only did I realize that college is not about getting away from your parents and becoming independent. It is also requiring a significant amount of discipline, time management, maturity and prioritizing task.
I think I can say that all of us at the pre-college program have come to this realization at some point or another. You feelings are completely valid and I've definitely come to that understanding and conclusion. Taking these classes has really shown me that to be in college one needs a lot of self discipline and you really touched on that in this post. It was good that you came to this realization at an early point in this program. Good job.-Jaleel
